Lawrence B. Dale
Mr. Dale is President of Dale Operating Company. He received a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975 and a J.D. from St. Mary’s Law School in 1978. After a short time as an oil and gas attorney in West Texas and then Dallas, Mr. Dale formed his own oil and gas company in 1981 and has been an independent oil and gas operator for over 34 years. The Dale Companies have drilled over 350 wells in Texas and Louisiana, taking advantage of improved technology in 3-D seismic, horizontal drilling, and hydraulic fracturing in shale reservoirs. Over the years, the Dale Companies have built and sold production and pipeline systems to larger public companies, the last significant sale being to Chesapeake Energy in the Barnett Shale.
Mr. Dale is the past Chairman of the Board of St. Philip’s School and Community Center, past Chairman of the Tartan Board at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, past President of the Dallas Petroleum Club and currently serves on the board of the Baylor Health Care System Foundation and on the Regional Advisory Board for Teach for America.
Vice President & General Counsel
Cody serves as Vice President & General Counsel for the Company. He received a B.S., magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University in 2000 and a M.S. in 2001 before receiving his J.D. with honors from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law in 2005.
Cody has been with the Company since 2005, beginning in the field as a title agent and assisting in the acquisition of oil and gas leases and pipeline easements in the urban environment before moving to the Company’s corporate office to serve as General Counsel. He assists in the management of the Company and coordinates all legal and corporate matters, including title review and mineral and lease purchase matters. Cody and his wife, Emily, have one daughter.
Vice President & Land Manager
Steve is Vice President & Land Manager of Dale Operating Company. He joined Dale in 2006 after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006 with a BBA in Finance.
Steve worked in the Company’s Barnett Shale field office as an Area Landman until 2008 when he started the mineral buying effort in the Bakken Shale play of the Williston Basin in North Dakota and Montana. Steve assists in the management of the company and oversees the deployment and management of Dale mineral and leasehold partnerships. He is active in the community, serving as a volunteer with Wisdom’s Hope and Watermark Community Church in Fort Worth. Steve and his wife, Lesa, have one daughter.
Bryce serves as Controller for the Company. He received a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of North Dakota in 2003 and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2011.
Prior to joining the Company in 2012, Bryce spent five years at Deloitte and Touche, and three years at Fossil, Inc. as an Accounting Manager. He currently oversees all accounting and financial reporting matters for the Company and its partnerships. Bryce and his wife, Sara, have one son and one daughter.
Senior Reservoir Engineer
Chris serves as Senior Reservoir Engineer for Dale Operating Company. He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a MBA from the University of Texas. Following his commissioning in 2002, Widell served in the US Army for six years. After two combat tours in Iraq, Chris separated from the military and joined Newfield Exploration in the Gulf of Mexico and Onshore Gulf Coast business units. Later, he joined Anadarko Petroleum’s East Texas/North Louisiana business unit working the development of the Haynesville Shale.
Chris joined Dale in 2014. He manages and evaluates the reserves of our partnerships’ non-op leasehold and mineral interests in North Dakota, Montana, Oklahoma, and Mississippi and provides engineering support for Dale’s operations in West Texas. Chris spends his free time with his wife, Jennie, chasing after two young boys. He also volunteers on the Executive staff of Veteran non-profit, Team Red, White & Blue.
Associate General Counsel
Pete Dale serves as Associate General Counsel for Dale Operating Company. He received a B.A., cum laude, from Vanderbilt University in 2009 before receiving his J.D., magna cum laude, from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law in 2013.
Prior to joining Dale Operating, Pete spent two years practicing law as an associate with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld L.L.P. At Akin Gump, Pete’s practice primarily focused on the formation, structuring, management and operation of domestic and international hedge funds and private equity funds. Pete currently helps coordinate legal and corporate matters of Dale Operating and its affiliated entities.
